		<description>Hi RB. Yes Canadian Airlines did seem to provide better service.  Note that the original airline here was CP Air (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Pacific_Airlines) which was renamed to Canadian Airlines in the 1980&#039;s. 

What&#039;s also interesting is that Air Canada bought Canadian Airlines at the worst possible time, just before 9/11. As a result Air Canada filed for bankruptcy in 2003 as a result of fewer passengers and huge debt.  It managed to reorganized it&#039;s finances and survive as the no-frills company you see today.</description>
