Hello R., I am so happy to see you posting a blog every now and again. I know it has been several months, but, nonetheless, you are still writing. I bet high school is keeping you busy. Doha is (was) really HOT! It is finally starting to cool off. The high today is only 82 degrees. I haven't been blogging, but my students are using the wikis. Take care, R. and keep writing with such voice!

Hi RB. Yes Canadian Airlines did seem to provide better service. Note that the original airline here was CP Air (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Pacific_Airlines) which was renamed to Canadian Airlines in the 1980's.

What's also interesting is that Air Canada bought Canadian Airlines at the worst possible time, just before 9/11. As a result Air Canada filed for bankruptcy in 2003 as a result of fewer passengers and huge debt. It managed to reorganized it's finances and survive as the no-frills company you see today.

DELTA AIRLINES AND CORPORATE RESPONSIBILTY
Last year Delta Airlines declared bankruptcy and in the process wiped out the pension obligations towards their employees. This is an unacceptable and immoral business practice which has recently become a trend in America. Pilots who have been working for Delta for 20 years suddenly find that their future savings plan has been wiped out with the stroke of a pen. Corporate America needs to demonstrate more concern for their employees.
